Our House

Originally built as a farmhouse by a woollen merchant almost 200 years ago 'The White Horse Inn' served the tiny community of Goodshaw as a public house until 1958, when it became a private dwelling.

Since we moved in (in 1976) we have spent many happy (and otherwise!!) hours and years renovating and refurbishing it to combine the comforts of modern living with an atmosphere of a different age.

Since 1995 we have been providing second homes for people of all nationalities in our unlicensed but not alcohol free pub!

VisitBritain Quality in Tourism has recognised the high quality of the accommodation with a prestigious 4 star rating and a silver award.

The original bar, painstakingly restored, now doubles as a tourist information centre and an office. Feel free to browse or log on.
